  • Queensferry High School is a new build development that was constructed on the site of the old school’s playing fields.

  • The £40m school, which opened its doors to pupils for the start of the 2020/21 school term will educate 1,200 pupils, alongside offering recreational facilities for use by the community out of hours.

  • The high school was designed by Ryder Architecture working alongside main contractor, Morrison Construction and end-user Hub South East Scotland.

  • The development took a low carbon approach with designs placed to enhanced building performance. These additions aim to deliver benefits to both the quality of learning environments for young people and long term energy use.

  • Heckmondwike worked closely with stakeholders throughout the project and supplied almost 4,100 square metres of its market-leading Supacord carpet tiles.

  • There was a selection of colours used on the site, highlighting Supacord’s versatility. The majority of the carpet tiles (3,500 square metres) were in Steel Grey. However, Kingfisher, Blueberry, Flint, Violet, Pacific Blue, Aquamarine, Astra Blue, Arctic Blue and Moonlight were used as accent colour tiles.

  • Supacord is the smart choice for the education sector. Manufactured by Heckmondwike at its site in Liversedge, West Yorkshire since 1973, Supacord has a strong reputation as being the ideal solution for heavy commercial environments.
