Paultons Park, Hampshire

Paultons Park is a family theme park located in Hampshire, near the New Forest National Park. Spanning 140 acres, it features over 70 rides and attractions and continues to expand, offering new experiences for visitors of all ages.

In May 2025, the park unveiled its latest addition: Ghostly Manor, a £3.5 million immersive indoor attraction and the world’s first ‘Gameplay Theatre.’ This interactive dark ride invites guests into the eerie and mysterious home of Dr. Benjamin Kinley, an eccentric supernatural expert with a ghost problem on his hands.

Designed for Atmosphere and Efficiency

To complement the ride’s custom design, Heckmondwike provided a bespoke flooring solution tailored to meet the specific requirements of Ghostly Manor.

A total of 300m² of Diamond Tiles in Charcoal were installed throughout the attraction. The deep, dark tone and textured finish not only enhanced the ride’s mystical atmosphere but also provided practical benefits such as slip resistance and long-lasting performance, ensuring both safety and style in a high-use environment.

To further enhance the experience, a custom sheet matting product measuring 2.50m x 2.00m was developed, featuring specially designed arrows and numbers. These elements were precisely cut into the carpet tiles to guide guests to the correct rows as they prepare to board the ride. This feature not only improves crowd flow and boarding efficiency but also aligns seamlessly with the overall visual design of the attraction.

On-Site Installation 

To bring this vision to life on-site, we partnered with NCF Contracts, who carried out the installation with outstanding precision and attention to detail. Their experience in high-profile commercial fitouts ensured the matting was laid flawlessly, aligning exactly with the ride’s operational flow and themed layout.

From Concept to Completion

To emphasise the bespoke nature of this installation, below are the original hand-drawn concept sketch and the final production proof of the directional matting, showcasing the detailed planning and creative effort behind this custom flooring solution. These visuals illustrate how custom design played a critical role in bringing Ghostly Manor to life, down to the smallest details.
