Orsett Heath Academy, Grays, Essex

The new Orsett Heath Academy in Grays, Essex, is a modern, three-storey building covering 8,610 square meters, designed to accommodate students aged 11-16. The building features collaborative breakout areas, a double-height dining hall, a performing arts hub, and high-quality classrooms, all tailored to foster an engaging and innovative learning environment.

• 105 square meters of Diamond tile in Steel Grey was chosen for the school’s entrance matting due to its durable, cobbled texture, specifically designed for high-traffic areas. This unique texture helps to trap dirt and moisture, preventing it from being carried further into the building, and helping to maintain a cleaner and safer environment. Its robust construction ensures long-lasting performance, making it an ideal choice for the school’s entrance, where durability and ease of maintenance are key priorities.

• The school installed 2975 square meters of Supacord carpet tiles in Charcoal throughout its classrooms, corridors, and library. Known for its hard-wearing, anti-ravel, and anti-fray properties, Supacord can withstand heavy foot traffic, making it a reliable choice for high-use areas. Furthermore, its low installation and maintenance costs make Supacord an economical choice for long-term use, contributing to the school’s goal of maintaining a cost-effective, yet high-performing space.
