After months of refurbishment and a recent rebrand, the Seaton Carew Community Hub, formerly known as Seaton Carew Library, reopened its door in April 2025. Originally opened in 1970, the venue now features a fresh new look, upgraded facilities, and an expanded range of activities and services designed to better serve the local community.

Project Goals

The transformation aimed to modernise outdated facilities, improve energy efficiency, and create a welcoming, flexible space that reflects the needs of today’s users, including families, students, and community groups. Design and Delivery

The £250,000 transformation project was led by Hartlepool Borough Council’s Consultancy Services Team, who also appointed the Council’s Construction Team to carry out the works. Once a tired and draughty building, the hub has been completely reimagined into a vibrant, multi-functional space. The new layout includes:
